We put this section here because, honestly, we have no idea what we’re doing — which is exactly the spirit of the Clemson Fun Bunch. Think of this space as a virtual back porch, a Tiger Town Tavern napkin, or the last 15 minutes of a Nick’s parking lot conversation when no one really wants to go home.
This is where Student Life past, present, and possibly imagined will live. And yeah, we’re actively looking for a bold, slightly reckless anthropology student (or anyone with a notebook and a six-pack) to help us capture the wild, beautiful, occasionally illegal magic of the early 1980s Fun Bunch era — before it fades away… or worse, becomes accurate.
Because history is written by the sober. This is our chance to distort it with style.

🔥 Fun Bunch Dispatch: What’s Coming Soon to Student Life & Random Thoughts 🔥
Because our memories are fuzzy, our ideas are wild, and our mission is clear — preserve the party before it disappears forever.
We’re cooking up some new additions to this section that dig deep into the history, hilarity, and heart of Clemson’s golden era — the 1980s — and bring that spirit back to the present. Here’s what’s in the works (yes, it’s ambitious, but so was sneaking a keg up three flights of dorm stairs):
📣 1. First Friday Parades: The Glorious March Begins
We’re diving into the history of Clemson’s First Friday Parades during the 1980s — when floats were homemade, cheers were rowdy, and the football season didn’t start until a few frats got put on probation. Expect stories, photos, and maybe a digital scrapbook of questionable decisions and orange paint.
🐅 2. Return of Bengal Ball, On-Campus Bars, Bengal Babes & Weird Parties
We’re officially launching the Fun Bunch Initiative to bring back what made Clemson legendary: the Bengal Ball, bars on campus, and the kind of weird themed parties that made waking up in a toga seem completely normal. If we have to dress up like Roman senators to do it, so be it.
🏊♂️🏑 3. Support for Clemson Swimming & Women’s Field Hockey
Because partying without purpose is just noise. We’re throwing our support behind the return of Clemson Men’s Swimming and Women’s Field Hockey. Bring back the sports, the rivalries, the speedos, and the field slap. Title IX can still be badass.
🌊 4. More Life on Lake Hartwell (a.k.a. Clemson University Lake)
From rafting and rope swings to sunset boat rides with cassette decks, the lake was a second campus. We’re working to bring more attention, events, and floating beer coolers back to Lake Hartwell, the unsung hero of Clemson fun.
🗺️ 5. The Fun Bunch Treasure Map (of Bars & Parties)
Coming soon: an illustrated, totally irreverent “Treasure Map” of Clemson’s legendary ‘80s party spots. From old bars and keg houses to tailgate lots and infamous basements, this map will be your key to the lost kingdom of Fun Bunch lore.
🎸 6. Master List of Bands That Rocked Clemson in the ‘80s
From cover bands in dive bars to legends on tour stops, we’re compiling a master list of every band that played Clemson or the surrounding area in the 1980s. If your ears are still ringing, we want to hear about it. Were you there for REM? Did you see the time Peter Tosh rolled through? We want the full setlist and the bathroom graffiti too.
👕 7. New Irreverent Fun Bunch Gear
Coming to the merch store: shirts, hats, stickers, maybe even koozies with quotes your mom wouldn’t approve of. Get ready for gear that’s nostalgic, rebellious, and not even pretending to be polite.
